WHAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
I was trying too hard.
It didn’t hit me all at once. It was slow.
A quiet guilt that built up over time. The kind that whispers “are you doing enough?” while you are folding laundry, cooking dinner, settling a toddler meltdown.
I’d sit with my older one, flashcards in hand, trying to do the right thing. She’d love to start, then would get bored. I’d push a little more. She’d resist. I’d feel worse.
I was doing everything I thought I was supposed to do. And none of it was working.
Then I tried something new. I stopped overthinking it.
No more elaborate activities. No more guilt-buying curriculum packs I’d never finish. Just simple, focused practice — one clean sheet, one skill, a few minutes a day.
She stopped resisting. She started asking for more.
That’s when I realised. Kids don’t need more. They need less, done consistently.
Then came the real trouble.. WHERE DO I FIND THESE ACTIVITIES?
What I wanted was simple. Calm learning time. Worksheets that didn’t overwhelm my child – or me. Something easy to print, easy to sit down with, and something we’d both actually enjoy doing together and sometimes, alone.
Instead, I kept finding overly colourful pages, cluttered activities, and worksheets with just one tiny task that barely lasted two minutes before my child lost interest.
THAT’S EXACTLY WHERE YUNIK LITTLE KIDS COMES IN.
I created it because I needed it.
